HOMEOPATHY FOR HAY FEVER

USEFUL REMEDIES TO HELP WITH SYMPTOMS OF SEASONAL ALLERGIES

Hay fever and other seasonal allergies are very common and can be mild or really annoying and disruptive.

The good news is that you don’t need anti-histamines and all their side effects in order to feel better.

Is this you?

-watery, red, itchy eyes

-runny nose

-scratchy throat

-endless sneezing

Here a few remedies to keep in mind:

Arsenicum

This is the first remedy to think of when the symptoms feel like a mild cold coming on: sneezing, cold, sore throat and runny nose.

Sabadilla

Great remedy when the main symptom is constant sneezing.

Allium Cepa

Watery eyes and runny nose. Allium Cepa is homeopathic onion, so think about the symptoms that come up when you are chopping onions and you get the idea.

Euphrasia

This is a flower commonly known as Bright Eye, because of its well known properties to heal eye inflammations. When the main symptoms are watery, itchy and red eyes, this is a great remedy to have. It can also be combined with Ruta, which is also very effective for eye symptoms.

Ammonium Carbonicum

When the symptoms include stuffy nose that makes breathing difficult.

Wyethia

The distinctive symptom that requires this remedy is when the palate feels itchy.

Mixed Pollen and Grass

Specialised homeopathic pharmacies will have this remedy, that you can take in 200c potency as prevention when you feel the allergy season is coming close.

Histaminum

This is a more general remedy that includes skin issues due to allergy of any kind.

The good thing about all these remedies is that they can be used in combination during acute condition. If none of these remedies work, there may be something else going on and a consultation with a homeopath is advised.
